A place for people who grew up in Maywood, IL and the surrounding areas; Broadview, Forest Park, Westchester, etc. - in the late 1960s and 1970s, to get in touch and stay in touch with each other. Please pass a link to this website along to anyone you think might be interested!
Welcome to Maywood Reunion
MaywoodReunion.com was inspired by an informal reunion of old friends I was invited to a few years ago. There were around 50 people from the old neighborhood - which included not just Maywood, but also most of the surrounding suburbs - who met up at Anyways Bar & Restaurant in Villa Park. While I was there I heard that the reunions had been happening for several years already, on the Saturday of the weekend before Labor Day weekend every year. I had such a great time that I decided to put up a website so we could stay in touch with each other, post photos, share news, and let more people know about the next reunion. So mark your calendars! And check back here often for information and updates.

FranK Finek R.I.P.
Submitted by Glenn Watkins on Sun, 03/07/2010 - 13:16
Sorry to pass this news on to all. I recieved a call from my brother Geoffrey on Saturday, 3/06/10 to inform me that Frank Finek had just passed away just a few hours prior to this call. Evidentally Frank suffered a massive heart attack at around 11 am. Frank and I were room mates from 76-78 while I was just starting out my driving carrer with UPS and Frank playing baseball with the Phillies and then on to the Cubs.

Winter Driving
Submitted by smackie342@aol.com on Sat, 01/09/2010 - 16:31I thought driving to work sucked in autumn. My brain did not want to think ahead to the joy of winter driving. It's January now and I can't complain to much as there have been no real traffic issues. I pray for motorcycle riding weather. It is coming right?

Maywood 1975
Submitted by Mike Sheehan on Tue, 09/08/2009 - 16:22While cleaning out my Dad's house this weekend (moved him to "assisted living"), I found a copy of the April 1975 Maywood Herald. He had saved it because it had a picture of my sister in one of Ernie and Lois' first productions. Amazing that they're still there and have built one of the best fine arts programs in the country right there in Maywood. It was also great to see all of the old ads for local businesses. How about a brand new Buick LeSabre for $3875 or a brand new Camaro for $3425 or a house in Maywood for 35K or a four bedroom house in Oak Park for 45k.

Reunion / Thoughts
Submitted by Alan McColl on Thu, 09/03/2009 - 01:23Hello everyone,
I had a great time at the reunion. Nice to see the great turnout, from all over. I regret I had to leave early due to familial responsibilities. Speaking with some folks about the website, it became clear that there was some confusion (I sound like Yogi Berra). I'd like to point out a few things;
